Carlos Sainz Sr has announced he will not run against Mohammed Ben Sulayem for the FIA presidency because of the current circumstances. This decision comes after speculation that Sainz might challenge Ben Sulayem in the election later this year. Despite considering a campaign, Sainz confirmed he will not be a candidate, citing his Dakar commitments and the unsuitable conditions for his candidacy. While 36 race clubs supported Ben Sulayem, whose presidency is marked by controversy, Sainz expressed his belief in the need for changes within the FIA. Sainz affirmed his passion for motorsport and commitment to improving mobility, thanking supporters for their encouragement as he steps back from the FIA race.
